You can register online. PDMBA will also be holding an in person online registration during March

2. My child is 6 years old, later this year. Can (s)he play rookie ball this year

Yes.  As long as the birthday is within the playing year of the season your child will be allowed to register and play  We leave the final decision up to the parents to make if they feel their child is ready.  We do this because the last thing we want to happen, is a child play baseball when they are too young, and end up never playing again. Our Rookie program commences at the age of 6.

Rookie teams play against Simcoe teams, as well as Delhi and possibly other teams in Southern counties area which can include Walsingham and Caledonia depending on their registrations for the season.  There are usually at least 10 teams in the rookie house league.  Home game nights for Port Dover are Mondays and Thursdays at Misner Park, however these days can change when new seasons start as the schedule is dependant on the amount of registrations. Rookie teams can play any day of the week depending on who or where they are playing.  The league endeavours to ensure that there will never be more than 2 games per week.
