New Protocol

The Ontario Baseball Association (OBA) have indicated that parents and other persons not directly involved in the coaching of players are not covered by the Insurance that we pay.

They state that when winter ball sessions are held in premises such as School gyms, that parents and other spectators not directly involved in the coaching of players must be removed from locations at risk – in other words where they can be hit by balls, bats or other item of training equipment or suffer collisions with players. The OBA, in stating their safety concerns quoted Rowans law.

The school gym is equipped with curtain netting which will extend past the doorway to the gym. The net must be fully extended past the doorway thereby allowing the doors to the gym being left open, allowing parents and other interested parties to view from behind the netting in a safe zone.
